I'm a twenty something photographer who was born and raised in Argyll on the West coast of Scotland. Growing up I was always fascinated by the beauty and geological features of the Scottish landscape and this fascination led me to pick up a camera. I am completely self taught and over the past decade I have made tens of thousands of photographs, developing my skills and style through experimentation and exploration. My work is obviously inspired by the physical landscape but it’s also inspired by the rich history and enchanting myths and legends of Scotland. In my photographs I strive to combine these two elements to create an image with soul and spirit.
In 2018 I started photographing weddings which is something I've totally fallen in love with. Playing a part in a couples special day is such a wonderful and rewarding experience. I like to capture the natural flow of a wedding in a candid and relaxed style. For me it’s important to capture the emotion, the little details and the special moments that happen throughout the day which you may have missed. I try to be as discreet as possible and hopefully you’ll forget I’m there so I can capture these natural moments and you won’t be constantly posing or looking for the camera.
The first half of 2019 has been very exciting and has brought new challenges and opportunities. I was thrilled to work on the #HEARTOFARGYLL campaign this Spring with Wild About Argyll. Traveling around Argyll and promoting the county to the world was an absolute dream. In early summer I also was asked to work with Portavadie and help promote Argyll Secret Coast on the Cowal Peninsula.
In 2016 Visit Scotland made me an ambassador for their company, part of this role involves me promoting Scotland through my photography on social media. In the Spring of 2018 I had my first landscape exhibition in London and I have been featured in many online blogs and articles some are listened below.
